Lansing Residents – do you love your bully breeds?

UPDATE MARCH 19TH, 2013: Many thanks to the Lansing Public Safety Committee for keeping level heads and making sound decisions regarding the dangerous animal ordinance! At todays  meeting, they determined no new ordinance was needed at this time. Instead, they will use the existing ordinance but look for improved enforcement/communication from LPD to ICAC. That is a sound action plan, without targeting specific breeds!

February 2013: The City of Lansing is considering a vicious dog law that may or may not contain Breed Specific Legislation (BSL). The Mayor of Lansing, Virg Bernero, has repeatedly said in public the ordinance should hold owners of specific breeds, including pit bulls, more accountable. City Council member Jody Washington has said the ordinance won’t focus on specific breeds. Keep our Bullies Safe! LANSING RESIDENTS, MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD - attend the Public Safety Committee Meeting on Tuesday March 5th, 2013, 12:00, City Hall, 10th Floor.
